Modern apartments often come with an open-plan layout, which can be both a blessing and a challenge. For one of our previous Newstead projects, we took advantage of the open space by creating a seamless flow between the entry, kitchen, living, dining, and balcony areas. To do this, we focused on high-quality, minimalist furniture that both complemented the apartments architectural features and allowed for easy movement.
For the interior decoration and styling selections, we drew inspiration from the existing interior design finishes of the light timber flooring, soft neutral sheer curtains, and gorgeous veining in the marble kitchen benchtops. These tones were referenced throughout the selected furniture and soft furnishings, ultimately creating a serene contemporary interior.
Living in Queensland means embracing the outdoors, and we made sure our designs aligned with this lifestyle. The inner-city apartment featured large sliding doors that opened up to a spacious balcony with stunning views of the Brisbane skyline. We treated the outdoor space as an extension of the interior, with weather-resistant furnishings, soft outdoor rugs, and plantings that provided a fresh, natural touch.
